Up to 25 different students could be eligible for funding through the University of Manchester’s MBA scholarships programs. The university offers a variety of different need base and academic merit scholarships available for applicants. Below we are going to briefly overview a few of the MBA scholarships and bursaries that are available to applicants:

  • Manchester Merit Scholarships: These scholarships award anywhere between £5,000 to £20,000 depending on the need or merit. Applicants must have outstanding academic history and a minimum of a 600 on their GMAT.
  • Women in Business Scholarships: These scholarships award anywhere between £5,000 to £20,000 depending on the need or merit. The applicant must be female with strong leadership abilities.
  • Industry Sector Scholarships: These scholarships award anywhere between £5,000 to £20,000 depending on the need or merit. The applicant must be in an industry sector.
  • Manchester Excellence Scholarships: This scholarship awards one fully funded scholarships in the amount of £38,800 for domestic residents with outstanding academics.

Eligibility: The applicant must have outstanding academic background and leadership qualities. The MBA program is a highly involved and demanding educational environment. The applicant must be confident in their own skill sets and have the ability to rise to the challenge both intellectually and challenges that present in the programme. The applicant must have a strong undergraduate degree with honours to be considered for a position in the program. This means being in at least the top 25% of your individual graduating class. Candidates are considered from varieties of subject backgrounds as long as they meet all of the eligibility requirements needed. The applicant must supply satisfactory GMAT, MAT, or GRE scores. Different scholarships call for different scores and it is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that they have the appropriate score for the scholarships that they are wishing to apply to. Applicants may apply to more than one scholarship but will only be awarded the highest awarded MBA scholarships. The applicant must have a minimum of at least three years of postgraduate work experience. The work experience should be clear, strong and the applicant should have been consistently progressing towards their career achievements. Applicants that have exposure to international opportunities are highly sought after because they bring a diversity to the program. Applicants that have entrepreneurial experience are highly sought after because entrepreneurship is something that the MBA program hopes to foster and nurture through their core curriculum.

Deadline: All of these MBA scholarships are on a rolling basis. This means that most of the time if funding is available and an applicant meets all the requirements necessary they will be awarded a scholarships soon after they turned in their application. This means that applicants that turn their scholarships in earliest will be more likely to receive awards.
